Description

Intact except for a large chip from the beaked lip. Flat-bottomed squat bodied jug with handle rising above the trefoil mouth of which the front lobe is drawn out to a long beaker spout. Micaceous pink clay burnished to a matt brick red to black mottled surface (vertical burnishing marks visible). two reserved panels on shoulder and base of neck. In shoulder panel large triple zig zag, red between black, with pendant & standing triangles, dotted, in the inter spaces. In the neck panel three black wavy lines, bordered above and below by triple lines, black, red, black. Late Phrygian bichrome, 6th- 5th CBC.
