Description

Sommerville: Onyx. Three heads, a mire and two turbans. Greek and Roman Cameos, Case C.

Vermeule: Sardonyx Cameo. (unmounted) Three heads facing, carved in the dark layer of the stone. The one in the center wears a miter, those flanking wear turbans or cowls. Later 18th or 19th century.
