Brownware with Face. globular body, cylindrical neck, one loop handle from shoulder to neck. Face with headdress on neck, arms in low relief on body, legs also. Restored

Face-neck vessel. Narrow-necked jug with a globular body, cylindrical neck, rounded rim, 1 strap handle extending from the neck to the body, and a flattened base. Molded face added to neck with headdress, ear spools, eyes, nose, eyebrows, mouth, and necklace. Raised arms in relief on the body and two projecting feet at the bottom. There appears to be a burnished finish on the exterior. The vessel was likely fired in a reducing atmosphere with localized oxidation as the ceramic paste is gray and orange in color. Fireclouding is present on the body. The catalogue number is written on the object in black ink. Black ink on the bottom of the base reads: "3293a."
