Sommerville: Sardonyx. Geta, brother of Caracalla, twenty-fourth Emperor of Rome. Greek and Roman Cameos, Case QQ.

Vermeule: Sardonyx. Cameo. (Unmounted) Bust of a youth of Roman type facing to left. "Geta." 18th century, the popularity of these identifications no doubt stem from the tragic life and early death of Geta as recorded by the later Roman historians.
