Description | Paper Kakemono. Seated Kobo Daishi (Kukai) sits in a red chair holding a vajra and prayer beads. Dainichi Nyorai appears above in two positions at right and left. Above in the center, a gilded disc appears with Sanskrit characters inside supported by a lotus under an ornamental canopy. A lotus bud or leaf form, striped green, gold, red, white and blue forms an immediate background for figures - entire background is black with gold rays. Good condition. |
