Description | Musical bow. Busoi. Long, slim flat piece of medium brown wood, very slightly bent. Raised ridge on inner face. Slit at one end, small hole at the other, for string used to draw the bow taut. Slit end has carved scroll, other end also decoratively shaped. When strung, the bow is used with an independent resonator, such as a hollow pot: the curve of the bow rests on a round wood disk placed over the mouth of the pot and the string is struck with a wood stick (B). |
