Description | Wide mouthed polychrome jar. Upper design band from rim to shoulder (w: 7.6 cm) and consists of black abstracted feather motifs on white slipped surface. Central polychrome design band extends from shoulder (w: 13.0 cm) and consists of terraced motifs including fineline hatching and surrounding areas of solid orange pigment. Basal band is solid orange and measures 5.0 cm greatest width. Black rim band. Interior orange rim band (w: 5.5 cm). Base signed: "Mary Lewis, 10/90, Acoma". |
