Description

Sommerville: Antique paste cameo. Horus Harpocrates, said to have been born with his finger on his mouth, signfiicant of silence, secrecy, and mystery. Antique Pastes, Case TTT.

Vermeule: Glass paste imitating Sardonyx. Cameo. (Unmounted) Bust of Horus or Harpocrates facing to right, his right hand raised to his mouth in the so-called Graeco-Roman gesture of silence.
