| Description | A necklace (phul) with a pendant which depicts a female deity (devi). Amulets like the one on the end of the necklace are also known by many names including madaliya and patri. The chain is 12- Z-spun, S-twisted cords loosely Z-twisted together. Clasp of necklace formed by lark's head knot with a dangling end formed by brass wire coiled into a cone and wrapped around a lump of wool. Large central square pendant flanked on either side by twill plaiting of wire and cord tappering out to tightly coiled brass wire and eventually gives way to cord. |
