Description

Ear ornament. Grunjon tampil. Ear ornament. Grunjon tampil. The edge of the outer ear is punctured "in a series of small holes about an eighth of an inch apart, extending from the lobe all aroun the ear to where it joins with the skin of the head. In these diminutive holes they insert . . . an elaborate ornament of open brass rings . . . connected, . . with a narrow band of brass, from which are suspended many small diaond-shaped pieces of the same metal, which clink and jingle and glitter." (Home-Life of Borneo Head-Hunters, p 156.)
