Description

Complete but chipped. A very large sturdy version of this shape forming a link with the large krater-amphoras of Type 2. Clay: light gray-green with fine dark sand. Paint: thin purple-brown. 2 bands inside rim. 6 groups of 4-6 bars on rim. Paint on sides of handles, below rim at neck-base, on base. Zigzag on handles, 3 bands below handles, 2 on lower body. Neck: 3 double-outline zones, a center with a small solid lozenge in the center; the side zones have latticed-lozenge in the center; the side zones have latticed-lozenges and lattice work.
