Description

A flat tan leather pouch attached to a larger flat piece of leather which serves as a flap; the interior of the pouch is divided into four sections; the first and fourth sections have triangular flaps; the second and third, rectangular flaps; all the flaps are ornately decorated with curvilinear appliques of leather, red and blue velvet, green and blue silk, and multicolored silk thread; the large outer cover has a simple curvilinear applique of leather and velvet at the center; tooled crossing lines decorate the outer flap and back of the pouch; the outer flap is edged with a blue silk braid and has a blue pom pom at the pointed end; the back has a band of light tan cut leather appliqued across the top; it is fastened by a leather strip and loop; two leather strips are fastened to the top of the pouch near each side and two iron rings, with another leather strap attached, form the handle.
