Description

Mat seat, Tekai [tikai] burit. Rattan peel, rectangular with pointed top. Pattern of dark and light triangles. Pointed top edged with strips of bright red fabric, over which are sewn broad bands of beadwork with aso design in yellow on black and fringes of small red, yellow and black beads at the ends. At center top a disc of white glazed porcelain. Worn by men, suspended from the waist at back, ready to sit on in the forest.
