Description | Biconical Urn. Pottery. Break on rim. Fabric of medium fine texture, grey at core, outer surface red. Handmade. Covered with cream slip fired at lower temperature than vase. Painted red designs; on lower part of base bends of varying width; upper part set off by horizontal lines, a zigzag with pairs of chevrons joined by transverse lines; on handles seven horizontal lines following contours of handles. Lower rim surface white slip ends unevenly; upper rim traces of white pattern (festoons?). |
