Description

Wooden Katsina doll. The face is marked with two red, horizontal lines- one over the eyes and the other over the mouth. A skin is stretched over the top of the head and may have had fur. The skin is secured to the head with wooden dowels. The body is painted a buff color. This figure is a Tsuku, a less traditional type of clown. (Colton, H. 1959 #62, Wright, B., 1973 #242)
