Description | Brown, fine-grained rock with concoidal fracture (chert or volcanic origin). Boring element is round in cross-sectionm with flake scars almost entirely removed. Small striations on boring element perpendicular to longitudinal axis, indicating probably rotational use. Tip is rounded, shank is flaked and partially ground on both surfaces and is thinner than boring element. |
