Description | CBS Register: terracotta figurine blackened by fire, roughly made, Parthian. Rider on horseback. PBS XVI: Persian rider on horseback modelled by hand. The head is rudimentary, reduced to a nose, a beard and a peaked cap. The horse has a thick mane, a forelock, two pellet eyes, and a long nose. Hand and feet of man and horse are scarcely modelled. The rider has the same erect position as before. The figurine is blackened by fire and melting bitumen. |
