Description

Belt made of red wool broken by six abstract design units in purple, magenta, green and yellow. Solid, 39cm wide, black, wool area appears at midpoint in twill weave rather than plain weave. 23 cm, black, braided fringe at both ends. Made in Cantel for Zunil people.

As per Sigrid Meier, "Warp: 14 epi, two ply, black wool. Weft: 40 ppi, multiple strand, Z twist, red, purple, yellow, green and magenta wool. Weft faced plain weave. Supplementary weft is double faced. Woven on a backstrap loom."
