Description | Shield. Highly polished dark wooden shield, rectangular with sharply pointed ends. On each end seven strips of rattan peel, lashed on with darker vine forming zig zag pattern, along with a final, thinner band closest to the pointed ends. In the middle of the back a vertical hardwood handle, on either side of which are, again, seven strips of rattan peel, lashed on with darker vine forming zig zag pattern. Reverse has faint geometric patterns in black along the side edges. Pointed ends are painted half black on the reverse only. |
