Description | Sommerville: Onyx - double cameo, Egyptian. A jeweled Sittah on the obverse and a lotus-plant on the reverse. Greek and Roman Cameos, Case H. Vermeule: Sardonyx. Cameo (Modern gold pendant setting with decorations in Egyptian style). Bust of a female in Iris priestess headdress facing to left. R. a flower termed by Sommerville as lotus plant. 19th Century, designed to suggest Graeco-Roman work in the Egyptian style. |
