Description | Depressed body; wide mouth, slightly flaring rim; two horizontal loop handles on shoulder. Plain. Cooking pot (olla) with a squat-globular body, no neck/collar, flat rim, 2 horizontal strap handles on the body, and a rounded base. No molded/modeled additions. The vessel has a red slip. There appears to be a smoothed finish on the exterior and a smoothed finish on the interior. The vessel was likely fired in an oxidizing atmosphere as the ceramic paste is not visible in color. Evidence of usewear includes soot on the exterior and black staining on the interior. The catalogue number is written on the interior of collar. Black ink on the interior of collar reads:"1024-f." |
