Description | Wooden Zuni Katsina doll with movable arms. The face is split into four sections by a white and black line. Two diagonally-opposed sections are blue and the other two are brown. The mouth is a protruding tube. A winged insect, likely a dragonfly, is painted on the back of the head. A collar made from a juniper branch is wrapped around the neck. The body is painted red and a cloth kilt is worn around the waist. Leather moccasins are painted blue and red and worn over the feet. One hand holds feathers and the other holds a bell. |
