| Description | Black watercolor on white paper. Two birds. There is handwriting on the painting which reads: "Kao Yi. Pillar. dot. 909. B. Ilus No 182." This refers to the que, or tower, located at the tomb of Gao Yi in Sichuan province. There is a depiction of two birds at the top which inspired this painting. It may have been done by Anneliese Gutkind-Bulling based on illustrations in her book "The Meaning of China's Most Ancient Art". |
