Description | Wood carving in the shape of a crocodile head, with four large and many small, triangular teeth in the somewhat open jaws. "Eyes" protrude from the truncated body of a reclining human figure. Surface decoration includes carved and painted scales, carved rosettes with 14 points. Hollow at bottom back so could be fitted onto something: bow piece of a model canoe? |
