Description

CBS Register: fragment, terracotta relief (upper part). Deity with horned headdress holding spear in each hand

PBS XVI: War goddess holding a lance in each hand. She may be Ishtar fully dressed in a royal tunic of kaunakes. She wears a horned crown of a very archaic type, with only one pair of horns and in the centre a bull’s head between eagle feathers, as on the Stele of the Vultures. Prominent meeting eyebrows, lock of hair falling over the ears, and tight necklace belong to good archaic style. molded relief on a flat background.
