Description

A. In center a female figure (maenad?) running to left but looking back. At left a satyr in frontal view looking back to right. At right a naked youth advancing to left, left foot forward. Female figure holds large kettledrum (?) in left hand. Satyr holds a torch in right hand; a ball above his left hand. Youth holds wreath in right hand; he holds garment behind back with left. Above in field are two asterisks no doubt representing stars. They and torch suggest this is a night scene. B. Two naked youths running toward left. Youth atleft is in frontal position, head facing right, both arms extended, the left supporting billowing drapery. Youth at right is in three-quarter position, right leg forward, right arm extended in front of him holding a torch (?) or a strigil (?). No drapery. Dionysiac scene? Intact.
