Description

Tobacco pipe. Supak wai. "A straight bamboo pipe, used by the Madangs." (The Home-Life of Borneo Head-Hunters) Thin segment of bamboo, the skin of one end decoratively cut into thin spirals. At this same end a hole (for insertion of bowl?). Bands of incised designs.
