Description | Musical bow. Busoi. Long slim flat piece of dark brown wood, very slightly bent. One end with center slot, other with decorative carving of two sets of paired spirals and a small hole, for string used to draw the bow taut. When strung, the bow is used with an independent resonator, such as a hollow pot: the curve of the bow rests on a round wood disk placed over the mouth of the pot and the string is struck with a wood stick. One end is carved with raised scroll designs and two thick horizontal bars. The opposite end has a slit on either end. |
