Description | Garnet with gobelin border. Yellow-green and "birds" on a red ground. Crepe main section is comprised of three joined webs (each measuring roughly 55 cm wide though distorted). One edge has a slit tapestry band attached with figures (birds?) followed by a row of fringe. One edge has just fringe attached. The opposite edge appears to have had something attached but no longer there. There seems to have been repairs at one time along the web attachments as the replacement thread is blue. Color(s): Brown gauze for main section but has applied tapestry border edges with fringe (rose and pink fringe). Figurative tapestry (birds?) in yellow, brown blue and red). . |
