Description | 600 (P. Betancourt's 1991 publication) Conical cup shaped like a brazier (see 592) with one high handle with the rim indented at juncture of handle and rim; large hole beneath the handle, with three horizontal rows of perforations (d. 0.3-1.1 cm.) on the body; dome over the lower part creating a hollow chamber. Coarse, red (2.5 YR 4/6) to reddish brown (2.5 YR 4/4) clay with light and dark inclusions. Wiped with water. Handmade. Undecorated. Restored from fragments; some sherds missing, including dome. Signs of burning. Compare Hawes et al. 1908: pl.2, no. 19 (Gournia). Georgiou's Type IV (1973b), known from Palaikastro and Zakros. |
