Description

Sommerville: Onyx. Tellus, the divinity of the Earth. Greek and Roman Cameos, Case S.

Vermeule: Onyx. Cameo. (Unmounted). Draped bust of a young woman of ideal features to right., a wreath of leaves in her hair. Sommerville calls her "Telus, the divinity of the Earth." Neo-Classic, perhaps based on some ancient gem representing Flora or a similar divinity.
