Description | Incomplete and mended. Small round base, rather tall ovoid body, wide neck flaring to undercut and overhanging half-round rim. Clay: light pinkish brown to gray-green with fine sand. Paint: thin purple-brown. Paint interior rim, below rim exterior and at neck-base. Paint on handles. 3 wide bands above and below handle-zone, a single band near base. Neck: two horizontal lines above and below metopes separated by 3 vertical lines. 4 metopes with "winged" lozenges, subdivided into 2 latticed-lozenges. These alternate with large X's (though there are 2 successive x's at one point). Shoulder: 5 lozenges as on neck. Handle-zone: thick, double horizontal wavy lines with short nervous undulations. |
