| Description |
Male terracotta votive head; Central Italy, undoubtedly from a sanctuary/votive deposit; capite velato type; very fine, but note pick marks on face. Lacks lower part front and back; other wise intact. Forward part of head only represented. Frontal pose; curly locks above forehead. Framed by simplified representation of a mantle drawn over head. Back plain; vent hole 0.025m in diameter. Hard reddish buff clay; no traces of color. Around 2/3 life size. |
