CBS Register: Object in clay (medal, stuck in memory of the dead?)

PBS XIV: Round clay tessera from Palmyra, 21 ½ x 21 x 5 ½ mm. Acquired, 1891. The face has a ring impress. A winged lion attacks a crouching bull below a star. The reverse has an eagle with head in profile, wings and talons outspread over the inscription, with a necklace of beads around.
