Description

Vermeule: Sardonyx. Intaglio. (Modern gilt ring mount) A male athletic figure seated to left with a torch ? over his shoulder. A butterfield appears in field at left. Perhaps Prometheus with the soul of man (Psyche). Italian, XVIIIth or early XIXth in style of Pichler.
