Description | Complete but chipped. Probably wheel-made. Plain flat base; slightly convex flaring walls to inverted plain rim. Shape very close to Burnished Slip, Type 2. Clay: dark gritty buff with a striking amount of black sand; very thick heavy fabric almost suggesting stone; surface wet-smoothed. One piece, heavy bowl, unpainted, no decoration. |
