Description

Played by striking string. Small calabash attached to long wooden bow. Calabash attached at notched smaller end of string. From mode of attachment of calabash (with small end notched) it seems that the bowstring should be embraced by the binding string. In restored condition according to Seder' catalogue of May 1950 exhibition. The whole has the appearance of an ordinary bow turned for the occassion into a musical instrument. The latter, as well as the bowstring, does not look like native cord. The stave of the bow has a rectangular cross-section.
