Description | Black slip jug; Incomplete; about two-thirds of rim missing; base chipped; slip generally adhering except on handle. Ring base; ovoid body with greatest diameter toward belly; concave neck flaring toward rim; tightly pinched plain rim; thin vertical handle from rim to shoulder. Deeply incised horizontal lines encircling upper shoulder; wide deep vertical flutes on body; all neatly executed. |
