Description

Shield. Kelevit Kalang. Kelevit: Shield. Wooden shield, rectangular with pointed ends. Flat planes of the sides meet at an angle to form a longitudinal median ridge on the front. In the middle of the back a vertical hardwood handle. Painted on both sides. On front, a demonic figure with round staring eyes and curved fangs. On the back, black painted designs form geometric shapes in the negative space. Pigment on both sides is partially faded and turning white.
