Description | Post with face carved on it: "anchor nose", cowrie shell eyes, small mouth. Carved decoration consisting of two round discs and two long vertical rows of concentric arcs (back) and rows of points, alternating up and down (lower part and up sides). Incised arcs, three each corner of mouth. Traces of red, white and black pigment (arcs on back alternately red and white, carved points red with white edges). Finial? From canoe prow?* |
